Ok, before I forget, I'm going to write down what I wrote
in my agenda. We now have a part of Brazil and Argentina in our mission! It's
so sick. I probably won't be able to go to Quarai because I was already there
in Artigas but I want to serve in Argentina so bad. How cool will that be to be
able to serve in basically three countries!?
Next... so I wanted to buy a USB to download the
Conference so we went to our favorite cyber. While we were there, a man looked
at us and was like, “FINALLY!” He told us that he was a member of the church
from Venezuela and that he and his family were escaping from their country and they
have been traveling for 40 days to get to Montevideo because their government
wanted to kill them or something like that (I don't know what's going on with
the US and Venezuela). They were looking for missionaries to help them seek
help from our Stake President. We helped them move all of their bags and stuff
into the church and spend a good amount of time with them. They talked SO
funny... like little Mexicans with squeaky voices. But they were super nice and
loved all of the help we gave.
“El” (the wife of “R” who was going to get baptized)
repented! She said that she was very selfish and that she had could never stop
her husband from gaining eternal life. We helped her understand that the Lord's
church is perfect and after the conference, “R” was like, “when are you guys
going to baptize me! I'm getting sick of waiting!” He loved the talks and he
was SO impressed with the speakers, how there were speakers in Spanish, Portuguese
and whatever that other one was in. He will be baptized tomorrow!!! WOO HOO!!
Next week I will write the email about my thoughts on the
conference. I have so many things I want to say about it that I'd be here for
the entire time trying to explain it through email. By far, the best conference
ever though! Our church is just SO perfect! The whole time I was like... “easy
guys, you can't direct the entire conference to the Uruguayan Nation!” Everything
was perfect for them. Not only for them but for me! I'll explain more later.
It's just incredible.
Important stuff I need:
So I'm going to need some information on Family History.
Four generation information. I have everything besides for Grandma Merideth's
parent's information and Grandad's parent's information...when and where they
were born and when and where they died. The rest I'm pretty sure I have on
Family Search.
Now about that Casita in Jared's back yard... that's what
I'm talking about! When Gavin, Abbie and I are done with missions we all have
to live close together and where better a place than the Lord's chosen state?
We're all going to be there anyways and I don't care how much Gavin, Abbie and
Conner don't want to hang out with me, we're going to be doing everything
together. And when you guys retire in 12 years (which will fly by) we can all
be together. Play golf all the time, volleyball in Jared's backyard, watch all
the cool religious/sporting events together. E' Neilson was talking to me about
all the stuff his family did in Utah together and there is so much stuff. I
loved going on vacation to Utah. Our family is so perfect. Just thinking about
it makes me stoked! I miss Jared. I miss everyone. Can you send me more
pictures of family members and stuff?
Things are going well though over here. In these next two
weeks I'm going to be running around like crazy trying to visit everyone. There
is not a lot of time left for me here and still so much to be done! We met the
goal of our visits for Home Teaching. We got 6 visits and in total as an Elder's
quorum 11. Only 1 companionship didn't do their visits. It's a start but I want
EVERYONE to do their visits!
Thanks for everything though. I know that this is the
Lord's work. I couldn't have a stronger testimony about the church after
conference. It's so crazy how the Lord can talk to everyone at once...people here
think that it is impossible for there to be only one true church if there are
so many people in the world. If they would just watch conference or test the apostles’
invitations, they would understand that there is one church, one Christ, and
one doctrine.
