Even though I looked like a Cue Ball, I had an amazing experience
with President. When I went in to speak with him, he told me about how proud he
was of me. He said he wishes that he could receive an Email from every bishop
saying the kind of things that our bishop said about us. He said that he had a
different change for me, but then when he received that email, he had to leave
me in Rivera for one more change. But he said that I will be leaving next
change to gain more trust of the church leaders. I was able to teach him a bit
about the Doctrine of Christ and he gave me the best feedback! He said that he
loves how natural I am when I teach and that I'm so good at talking and
teaching that sometimes, I talk too much and don't let the investigators talk
like they need to. He said that all I need to do is get the investigators/members/inactive
members to say exactly what I want to say and then testify that it's true. If I
can teach that way, my teaching will be perfect. So I'll be working on that. E'
Neilson also had an amazing experience with him...It just makes me want to be
HIM!
So, “Lu” (“Ch”s girlfriend) has been preparing to be baptized on the
27th... well, of course, the “Ac” family will be moving to Lagunon (the zone
leader's area). This always happens to me... I don't care that much, but I
really want her to get baptized! We went over to the “Ac”s house on Friday and
had a feedback session. We asked each one of them what they liked of our
experience together and what we could have done better as missionaries. “Ash”
(4 or 5) said that we are both really funny but we have to change our names so
she can call us by our names(: (She's adorable!) “S” (14) said he was so
grateful that we helped him get his family back on the path to salvation and
for being his friend. We could have left with him to do visits more often though
because he said that he felt like he was serving the lord every time he left
with us and he hasn't felt a better feeling than that. He wants to serve his
mission in the same state that I will be in when he gets his call(: “Ch” (17)
also thanked us for helping his family. He then started to cry and couldn't
speak... he said he was so thankful for what we have done for “Lu”. He said he
never would have thought that she would accept the gospel and we helped him
realize that if we follow the commandments, anything is possible for the Lord.
He said he couldn't have asked for us to be better than how we were teaching
him and “Lu”. The parents both thanked us for being the best influences that
their boys have ever had. My companion thanked them for everything. (something
you guys need to know...E' Neilson has a girlfriend in Minnesota that he has
been dating since high school. She was baptized two weeks ago and he didn't
even know that she started taking the discussions) E' Neilson teared up when he
tried to tell them about how when he was teaching “Lu” and seeing the reaction
of “Ch” to how everything was happening, it made him feel like he was seeing
the change in his girlfriend as she prepared to be baptized. He said that they
need to pray more as a family and read more. When it was my turn it was the first
time that I felt the desire to cry when saying bye to a family on the mission.
I thanked them for everything. I told them about how I knew that they were one
of the families that the Lord prepared for me to meet on my mission. I told
them that I can already see “Ch” and “S” going on missions and blessing the
lives of so many others. I love “S” and “Ch”! They are studs and I can't wait
to go to “Lu”s baptism. I told them that they all had to put more trust in the
Lord. I told them that all of their problems would be solved if they just keep
every commandment of the Lord. I told them about the importance of going to
church EVERY Sunday so that they can testify of Christ and how they really care
about what He did for them. We talked about a bunch of things, but it was just
a super cool experience, being able to work with that family. Saturday, we
helped them move and that was way fun!
Love you all!
E' McRae
